I'm building a 1/35 Tamiya Schwimmwagen with an Eduard PE set for the Amphibs campaign, planning an SS vehicle with sPzAbt 101. The PE set includes a triangular pennant for the front right fender, with a Nazi eagle embossed onto it. Would an SS vehicle in the field have carried such a pennant? I'm inclined to think that it probably wouldn't, but that's just a guess on my part - any advice either way would be most appreciated, thanks!

Looking through my Squadron Panzer Colors book #2 on page 95, it shows a schwimmwagen with a triangular pennant with the eagle emblem on it (right fender)
There is also an AOK (Army Command) pennant on the left fender.
There is a crest on the front and rear of the vehicle from the "Kuban" campaign, in Russia.
According to the paragraph above it, the crest/shields on vehicles were.

So yes, I dont think that it would be totally wrong to put this pennant on your vehicle while its in the field, thought it would make for a good target.
I hope this helps.

If you're building just an ordinary schwim ...don't add the pennant ..as Shain said it was for a commanders vehicle.
