I think that this thread belongs here in Dioramas because it is more of a diorama than a ship model.I will be posting pics from time to time and if anyone needs any info on the building of a Victory please let me know as this is also a passion of mine and it is the first diorama that i ever built.I hope you guys enjoy this thread.

The ship is 90% scratch in 1/72 scale.

That is awesome! I have been doing some commission work on the Heller 1:100 scale kit and that was hard enough. Excellent looking work from what I can see. How about some close ups? Thanks for sharing your work. "Q"

John, that is one excellent ship, outstanding work! I can't help it, but this looks very familiar to me, did you happen to be in Victoria BC in September and enter this in our VSM show/contest? There were a few ships there.

Thanks Red and Kelly.No, I havent exhibited the ship anywhere other than my livingroom as it is just too hard to move around.I have however put it on other websites with a shot article on how I built it.Maybe it was there that you saw it.Anyway I will put up more pics from time to time and the article if I can find it.

Here is a few more pics.
This piece is primarily a decorative diorama that tells a story.I have taken some artistic licence in some areas but overall the ship is accurate.It is my preference to do ships that appeal to kids or the kid in all of us.Admiralty style models, although I admire the craftsmanship, do not have the same interest for me.

About 6000 hours shop time not including research etc...I know because I kept a day by day log ,the one and only time I did with any of my dioramas.
