Is there any reason why some tank serials were painted black / dark blue as opposed to white? Some tanks sported both.
I have noticed this mainly on 44th RTR and Royal Scots Greys of 4th AB.
Any thoughts anyone?
Cheers

Ive seen similiar differences in markings on vehicles belonging to 13/18th Hussars during the Normandy campaign.
From what i understand ( i think it was an article i read in militiary modelling) its just simply down to non standardisation of markings even within different regiments of the Brisitsh army
Maybe some one a little more knowledgable may be able to clarify this.
