Well from the looks of the pics, my best guess would be:
The first one probably had some sort of mobility kill (RPG to the track) or a blown powerpack / transmission, and the units maintenance section was picking it for usable parts to keep other vehicles running.
The second photo, I would guess that the M1 had it's armor breached by something, and they welded the box over the turret to preserve as much evidence as possible so they can analyze it. Much like the design team for the M1studied the hulks of M-60 tanks knocked out during Yom Kippur.
The third was probably the M-109 that was lost during the initial phases of Iraqi Freedom due to a fire in the fighting compartment.
The fourth looks like it had an engine fire.
There is alot of damaged or destroyed equipment that gets returned to be studied to make improvements to future fighting vehicles, as well as to keep certain aspects of the vehicles from falling into the wrong hands.
