Which M151 version?

I'm researching a future build for a jeep and mortar trailer from my days with the 82nd (1983-84), but can't for the life of me remember which of the M151s they used during that time, the M151A1 or A2? Anyone there in the early 80s recall?

Can't say for sure, but I'm pretty sure you'll find they were A2's. I know you are aware of all the problems with the A1's rolling over in the early days the "live rear axle / semi trailing arm" A2 were the fix for this and, I think by the 80's all were replaced with A2's, remembering that the A1's were first issued in '65 ?

I gotta agree with that. I might be mistaken, but I believe that we started seeing A2s in Germany before I returned to the States, and that was in 1977, so I'm sure that the 82nd would have had them by 1983.
