I'm planning a diarama involving two german tanks: Panzer III. L
Jadgpanther
This diorama is in the battle of the bulge and i was wondering what sort of camo scheme these tanks would have and if the Panzer II. L would have been involved in this battle. Thanks.

I doubt that the Panzer 3 would have been used in the Bulge. As far as I'm aware, all the German armour units involved were pretty well eqipped, and by that time the Panzer 3 would have become obsolete against newer, more powerful Allied tanks, though someone may prove me wrong,
As for the Jagdpanther, It would probably be in 'Ambush' colour scheme, or some other 3-tone scheme. Check out these models:

Sam -
Ahh, practically my most favorite subject and area, German armor in the "Bulge". As for the PzKpfw III L, I'm with Dave on this as the "workhorse" was the PzKpfw IVs which outnumbered the PzKpfw Vs in Panzer Divisions at the "Bulge". I do seem to remember a picture showing a PzKpfw III used as a command vehicle, but would defer again to "thebear", "Kelley", or "Biggles" for their more knowledgeable inputs to clarify. As for the JagdPanthers, they were definitely used and probably most notably with 5th Panzer Army in the Panzer Lehr Division in sPzJaegAbt 559. A picture in Concord's "Panzers of the Ardennes Offensive 1944-45" by Tom Cockle shows a JagdPanther in the red oxide primer base with dark yellow & dark green "irregular stripes". Though as Dave mentioned, most would be in the 3 color camo and probably for the "Late" version JagdPanthers (after Oct 1944), they would have the "ambush" scheme (and no zimmerit for the JagdPanthers). Anxious to see how this diorama develop and hope this helps some,

Mike i intended on having a bridge in teh dio with the panzer III going over with the battle hardened Jadgpanther underneath. But i do have a Panzer IV Ausf D ordered for christmas so that could replace the panzer III couldn't it?

One more thing :-) I'd like to be fairly accurate on this diorama so do you know where i could find tactical signs and numbers for the Jadgpanther and the panzer IV now please :-) :-) i don't know where abouts i'm planning this diorama to be (on the battlefiled) so i don't need to be too accurate.
Thank you.
Thank you.

The PzIV D would also be too early a version. You need a later PzIV like a G or later.

"ShermiesRule" is right about the PzKpfw IV D not working, the PzKpfw IV Hs & Js were what equipped the Panzer Divisions at the "Bulge". As for tactical "signs", it will depend on what unit you're planning on representing. Also many of the JagdPanthers didn't have any identifying markings or just the "crosses".

Just an idea that came to me - Would it be plausible to have a knocked out and rusted old Panzer 3/4 from the Ardennes advance of 1940, or would it have been very unlikely?

Knocked out German tanks from 1940 Invasion of France would probably been recovered, fixed up and reused or converted. At least the turret are recovered for use with other vehicles or for fixed bunkers. Unless the vehicle is completely blown apart.
Just my 2 cents.
