M3 Diesel, Midway Island

I chose the oddest color variation that I have ever seen in a WWII Marine vehicle . I have several pictures in reference books showing half dozen or so M3 (Diesels) in sand camoflauge lined up along a beach.

Most people believe these tanks were photographed on Midway Island.
So that's my project an USMC M3 Diesel assigned to Midway.

I'm glad to see the deadline has been restored to its original ending of Dec 25th 2006. Now I can fix two items that really need help, the air intake screen and those open side sponsoons. In the meantime I can now concentrate on my Amphib and S.I.K.FOR projects. This one won't be far behind though.

Thanks for the kind words. So far it has been out of the box. There was a slight problem with the group build ending date being wrong but its not until Christmas of 2006. Since there is more time I want to:

1. Replace the molded air intake screen with an photo
etch screen (Thank goodness for model railroad
stuff).

2. Fill in the open space under the side sponsoons

3. Replace the tracks with more correct ones.

4. Replace the turret mounted Machine Gun.

5. Add a figure or two.

6. Make a Viginette or dio out of it.
