Hi All,
I''ve been working on this Warrior lately, and are about to add the Accurate Armour tracks and crew. The tracks are the ones with icecleats, and very nice they are. The crew is wonderful, very crisp cast, no airbubblles in sight and the gunner's pose is so good, you swear he's about to get up...He's relaxed pose, with his hands inside the hatch is a perfect fit. The commander figure is very nice aswel, although I think that his pointing arm and shouting face would possibly need a figure outside the Warrior to interact with.
Camoulage is standard Black over Green, and will be weathered extremely to fit in a muddy, cold Bosnian winter.
Sorry about the pic quality, I had to take them inside with the camera flash. I should have a decent lighting set up again soon.
Cheers
Henk

Looks very good Henk.
I'd say your black cam stripes were a liitle on the narrow side.

Always good to see modern Brit AFV's!
One small point - the transfer of authority from UNPROFOR to IFOR took place in the last week or so of 1995. It's possible the Warriors were repainted from white to green/black in that time, but I would guess the repainting probably happened in early 1996.

Hi Murdo, I'm using a book ( Warrior Company by Simon Dunstan) as reference, and most of the Warriors in there seem to have more green than black. And one of my colleages is an ex-squaddie how was in one of these for many years, including the Gulf. He recons it's pretty much spot on. Having said that, I'll probably alter it subtly before I'm finished with it.
Hawkeye, To all accounts they needed a lot of recovery in Bosnia, something to do with 30 ton boxes and icy, twisty roads.. .

Your right there Stormfront, my mistake. I suppose it be better to date this early 1996, as it will definitely be a winter setting. I'm still trying to work out the markings, as the kit (Academy) supplied ones are a bit... well, not brilliant...

I really like these figures, especially the gunner.

Well, I'm using the kit's rubber tracks for this one.. the resin ones are not co-operating with me at the moment. But the figures have made good progress, nearly finished, just a few touches left to do.

Looking good, Henk. I'm currently working on a Desert Storm Warrior, and thought of adding a proper crew. I will be happy if they turn out half as good as yours. Keep us posted of how the tracks turn out. I'm thinking of adding a set of Friul tracks if they are bad.

Dear Henk and Erik
I am aslo working on a Warrior in UN service, so i join the club for a question maybe stupid but
it seems that the model is complete and there is no tracks but there is all the mud guards.
So question how can you put the tracks to the vehicle with the mudguards glued? On mine there is no space so i started to paint in White (not black :-) ) without the rear and front mud guards.
Even worst there is the addon armour, can you explain me how you can put the tracks afterward?
I'm puzzle
Cheers

Henk,
Looking good! I agree about the gunner, very natural. What colour is the hatch padding going to be? On the AS90 it was suggested using humbrol desert sand. You,ve got some plastic showing through the paint here and there. most noticably inside the twin wheels, front towing hook, behind the left rear stowage box, the front turret ring and on the drum in the turret basket.

Off to a good start. I like the wire cutter. Where did you get the idea for the bin inside the turret basket?
