While I was making the Trumpeter Is-3m, I broke the DshK turret mounted machine gun. The plastic's a bit flimsy so be careful with the thinner parts. I decided to buy a Russian Tank Models one since it looks like it has a lot more detail, but according to what I have read the "m" model has a DshKM gun as opposed to an earlier version gun. Seems fine but when I look at the kit supplied gun it is the earlier version (model 1938?) and an illustration in the Osprey IS-2 book also shows the Egyptian Is-3m (which is the one I'm building) with the earlier machine gun. The only photo I've seen is of an Israeli captured tank and it's not too clear. Does anyone know about this? Should I buy the DshK or the DshKM machine gun? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
