My dad delivered the roads and at first we were worried : they are narrow and the Dragon Wagon is just huuuuuge! It would not be plausible to have the beast turn there.
Then I had this idea of using this fountain I just got. Right in the corner, it would even make a good idea since the DW would have to break it to turn, to the amazement of the 2 GIs standing there.

What do you think?

I think it would look better without the fountian, it looks a little too cluttered. Even without the fountain, it's still gonna be a tight turn.

I agree with Parks20. Perhaps you could make some kind of garden in front of the house, and the DW just running through it. If so, you can still use the "amazed-GIs".

If possible, can you turn the DW's front wheels?

I'm not sold either way on the fountain.

Ropi, that's looking promising.
I would put the left frontwheel on the pavement, as the driver will be taking this turn as wide as possible. I don't know if and what you'll be adding on the other side of the pavement, but if there will be a garden or such, get that wheel right in there... With the angles and dimensions as the are,, unless the trailer has steering rearwheels (which it hasn't) it's going to hit the corner of the house, never mind the fountain.

Good looking DW by the way. I'm building one at the moment, and it's a great kit.

Cheers
Henk

Ola Nico

Nice progress here mate.
I agree with the others The DW would make a wide turn as possible. And the Pump looks kinda out of placeTry to position it elsewhere.
I agree with Henk the left front wheel should be somewhere on the sidewalk.
Also like the suggestion of having a garden in front of the house. Maybe you can have a iron fence in front of it which is pushed aside by the DW trailer. That would amaze the GI's just as well. Man loves demolishing stuff but they enjoy looking at it too.
I don`t know if you already have figures for the Dragon Wagon but maybe it would be cool to have a driver and a co driver. The Driver looking at what is comin up front and the co driver looking out of the window what is happening at the turn. It would make the story stronger.

Just a couple of suggestion

You're right Ropi she is a beast. Still its a nice dynamic dio, huge vehicle, narrow roads make a nice combo and provides a story too.

I with the guys on the fountain. A garden with a smashed fence as Faust mention would be good. If you can still turn the wheels as Scott mentioned that would be even better.

Don't know if its a good idea, but to continue the story make the building divisional HQ by placing a temporary signboard outside or any indicator that its a HQ. Have a MP arguing with one of the GI's or another figure which is the driver at the bottom left of the 2nd. photo and that should cover your space for that area.

I think you should take away the fountain. It just doesn't look right when it is placed to close to the bulding. A fountain would never have been placed at that location. A fountain would probably be placed in the middle of a square, og close to a wall.
It just looks like you put it there to make the turn harder for the DW... which is just what you did...

The project looks very nice. The experts have commented nice.. I would insist on that fountain, maybe it is better to not to have it in your project..
Keep us posted please, the steps of this work will be interesting..

Hi guys, I think I agree with you...
I guess I was in the right direction, and got carried away by this fountain I just bought. A fence is a much better idea, or a low wall that would delimit a little square in front of the building, maybe with a lamppost sitting there...

Any suggestions? What kind of fence, wall?
Any resources to make lampposts?

Hello Ropi:

I really like the idea and the models you have
selected. I can tell it will be an interesting
story. And some have suggested
good additional story lines such as the
garden and the HQ w/ the MP in a "heated
discussion" with the crew of the hauler vehicle.

I've looked closely at your two photos and am not
sure I understand just what shape your base is now
or is going to be when completed. And the reason I
raise the point is that if you add a garden, and/or a
fence, etc. I feel the distances or clearance between
the garden and the front of the vehicle is critical. IMO,
the base final shape will tell you how much room you
have there and will help to determine what kind of
fence. For example, if the front of the hauler has come
into contact with the fence and damaged a portion of
it and trampled the garden, that would give the figs
a good reason for their interaction. If that part works
out, I would suggest a wood fence so it would be
easy to show the damage, etc. The close quarters
and the difficulty of the turn is what you would want
to emphasize, IMO. And that added story line of
a heated "discussion" to me, would make it
even more interesting. Hope I haven't made
things worse, with my comments. Not knowing just
what shape and boundary the base is or will be,
because of all the various colors under the pieces
of the base; i.e. the red and yellow stripes next to
the Tarheel blue area, I'm in the dark.
But you're got a great start!

How about a generals jeep with a mangled fender and a heated M.P. i think the fountain would be in the Town or village square rather than in the front of a house. The Dragon looks good.

Hi guys,
Re: Base, the only elements in the pictures that will be final are
the painted road, the white road, and the building.
Everything else you see is either the table obviously, or some books that I've put there just to hold the building.
The fountain is also now disapearing and moving to a next dio.

Hope this helps. Was thinking a low wall would look more appropriate for a HQ, but it would make it harder for the turn...
So wood gate sounds the best...

Ola Nico

You could also position the house a little more away from the road. Looking at the house itself it clearly shows it is a house with some sort of status... Maybe you can creat a Wrought (hope I spelled that correctly) Iron fence there. A really nice fence of which you are definately sure people are going to find it a pitty the DW destroyed it

I'd move the fountain to the other side of the DW and add more figures JMHO
