Hi all,

Well, almost finished with building. I've added as much detail as my skills allow me to, and I'm pleased with the results.

Next step will be to finish organizing the interior (all those wires) and add the last exterior details. I also need to work away the seam and some gaps on the turret.
Then I'll paint the tank and add some extra accesoires like stowage and figures.

I'd like to use a black primer for my tank. Could anyone recommend a black primer?

Time for some pics:

Januari 8th another meeting, I'm battle ready!

If you are doing a late WW 2 version, can you scratch the turnbuckles on the front and rear fenders? I havent studied mine yet,I will start that for the Patton campaign.
If you are using a black primer, try a flat, the OD will settle on it better. Also flat may dry faster.I tended to use a grey primer on my M4(105)HVSS,on the metal bits.made it easier to paint.

Martin:

Looks nice... but from my research, the WW2 units didn't have the radio box on the transom. Korean war units did though.

Also noted on the left side of the turret, the crane mount (which was never put into use) toward the rear is attached sideways. Should be rotated 90 degrees.

Nice touch on the MG mount pin chain, I'm going to do that too, if I can find some fine chain that looks right.

Hope to have some pics up of mine soon.

Hi guys,

Well I'm doing the Korean war version because it gave me more options (like to stowage racks etc) and the Tamiya Battle System doesn't care which version your tank is anyway

I'll have a look at the crane mount, shouldn't be a problem to fix that

Thanks!

Crane mount fixed, thanks for telling me it was wrong I also made a new antenna mount so I can easily remove the antenna for transport. On this pic it's now 100% finished but it gives an idea what it looks like.

Looks great Martin!
How about some chains for the caps on the jerrycans, seeing as you have gone all out on the .50cal?
Is this a scaled up version of the 1/35th model? The oval loaders hatch springs seem to hook onto nothing like the smaller kit...
Cheers

Hi

I don't know if it's scaled up....but the springs look a bit strange like this. I'll see what I can do about it!

I think I see what you mean about the jerrycans although is isn't really a chain

Thanks,
Martin

Hey good pic of the jerrycan! Helped each other out here. I thought there was more of a chain and a little longer...
Are PSV going to finish well?!?!

Hehe well I think building the Pershing is a pleasure just as painting it Adrie.

Enjoy every step of building, not just finishing it!

This one turned out well, Martin. Great job!
Only one small thing: Where are the battledamage? From what Jurjen told me you should have weathered it with a sledge hammer ... :-) :-)

Perhaps he means that orange piece inside the barrel, eh Martijn?

Thats the flash bulb covering, to make it appear more red like a muzzle flash. The original xenon flash unit in the old King Tiger had clear shrink over them.

Looks really good Martin. I have to hold off painting until the weather warms up again, as I live in a small apartment.

Yeah well I painted it in my 3 x 4 meter bedroom lol (with the window wide open hehe). With low air pressure it's possible......good ventilation is needed though.

I'm at the point of buying a 1/15 StuGIV btw.....if I can get it for a nice price....

You mean the hull based machine gun?

I moved it to the turret (based on some Korean war pics)
