Got the above kit for Christmas, having recently recieved a copy of Special Ops Vol 29 i have some good referance material on the subject. The journal has a section on the Screaming Eagles in Nothern Iraq with lots of Photos of these vehicles in action. The kit looks very good, lots of detail. I think i will be left with a load of spare parts this will help me to upgrade the Acadeny M966 Tow i have. Getting seated figures may be a problem, although thereare some with the M966 TOW .

Hi Cookie
Been working on that one myself over the last couple of days along with a m35 21/2t oif gun truck.
The kit goes together ok but the side armour and the gun will either need thinning or replacing with plastic card, i've thinned the side armour but am going to make a new shield.
Ive done a couple of other mods to the seats and where the radio is going to go but nothing major.
Not sure about replacing the wheels yet, have a spare set but was going to use them on another humvee.
Anyway hope yours turns out okay.
Cheers
Peter

There are a lot of good pictures of the gun trucks being used in Iraq now. The Academy kit is nice. I have one to build myself, but I am planning on making it a bit more like a gun truck used for convoy escort. Warriors makes a Hummer crew that should work with the academy kit (driver and gunner)....https://www.modelmecca.com/cgi-bin/shop.pl?go=Search&partnumber=WA%2035529
hope that helps.

The only problem with taking the seated figures from the M966 TOW is that the torso is still the old style webbing. You would need to get the torso's from somewhere else which would have the flak jacket on.
