On sprue E, it includes two sets of bolts, and two sets of tie downs. *chuckle* You have to shave them off, but they are there!

Actually, just discovered that on both of the Stuart kits that Academy issued, on each of the turret specific sprues, there are two different sets of rivets and tie downs molded onto the sprue itself. Sweet!

The M3A1 is out? When and where did you find it? :-)

Bought it in Korea for $8 just before I PCS from there. *grin* Same price for the Honey, also.

I was stationed at Kwang Ju in 87. Like the idiot I can be, the only model I bought in my year there was a Drum Set, I think it was by Academy. And that got lost in transit.

A friend of mine got me suckered into it again, and at the price, you can afford a few messups. Most of their models were priced below $10, so that made it quite sweet.

I saw them last weekend at Chesterfield Hobby shop outside of Richmond, VA.

Sarge, do you know what , if any PE sets are compatible for the M3A1?

Building this one without PE, but from what I understand, there are parts of the Eduard(I think) PE set of the M3 Honey, that apply to this one, as well as some of the PE for Tamiya's that fit as well.

Wouldnt it be great if manufacturers molded in little extras like this on their sprues. Even if not all used they would be great for the spare parts bin or scratchbuilding extras. Fairplay to Academy for their effort. I recently built Tamiyas early M4 and it had loads of stowage for it, and yet other kits have next to nothing. These little extras mean a lot.

I have had a chance to paw over some of Academy's older offerings, some of their direct copies from Tamiya, and most of their newer items, and as they matured, I am severely impressed. And, especially with the M3A1, since it was a nice comfortable build.
