Bruce Excellent job on the 251, looks real. Looks like you did a lot of extra work to it, can you tell us some of what you have done here? Thanks Kevin

Thanks for the kind words guys.

Kevin, I added the control cables for the rockets. These should actually continue right into the crew compartment , but I didn't know where they attach. I made different sights, which seem to be more consistant with the ones used on the Ausf Ds. The grass is static grass mixed with cut up jute string and the "crocuses" are from a weed thingy.

Keenan, the figures came with the kit, 4 in total (2 body styles).
I was very surprised with thier quality .

Looks really good, very subtle on the chippng, wel laid out scene.
The one thing that looks out of place is the holster next to the front MG. The owner would have had to undo his belt and place it there for no apprrecialble reason. Just doesn't seem to fit. I'd pop it off and maybe place some binoculars or another ammo can there.

Hello Sgt. Slug:

Just a very nice presentation! A simple scene,
yet so effective when done to this quality. Also, your
pix are just first class and really show off all the
extra work. I think your attention to detail —
through out — is as good as I've seen. Specifically,
I'll mention all the surfaces you painted that are supposed to be wood: the crate frames, and even the rifle stocks. A slightly different tone from the crates in comparison to the rifle stock. A lot of thinking went into how you painted this model. Really fine work. And it
indicates how much discipline and skill you have.

Davy, the mud was created using a product called "Utility Paste" (off of eBay ), I then used artists pastels & chalk for the colour and more texture then added future for the "wetter look".

Al, your right that darn holster, it looks out of place lol, Binocs it will soon be

Rick , I do go outta my way to not use the same colours twice, to me its up there with mold lines and finger prints on the list of no-nos. Glad you like my model

Very nicely done Bruce. Just goes to show that a quality kit can come from an oldie like this. Everything looks great, I really like the grass/mud mix on the tracks. And what did you use for the little yellow flower in the grass?

EDIT-Woo hoo!!! 500 posts, and a promotion!!!

Very nice execution. I like the added details you did. It makes it your own.
My only question is - how did that barrel get in the middle of the field?

Thanks for your comments guys,

Brian, the yellow flowers (crocuses) are from a weed that grows abundently around here, it looks similar to a dill weed flowers. Sorry I dont know it's name.

Scott , hard to get things past you lol, I actually thought of this as a recently set up fuel/ammo dump, kind of a drive through version. The barrrel ( I'm making this up as I go along) is a empty drum of which there are plenty more of off camera...Ya-ya thats it.

Bruce, excellent job! Groundwork is superb, and you've gone to a lot of trouble to make that 251 look impressive. The only thing I would do to finish it is add the lead to the Bosch headlight. Nice job!

The most stunning piece of this beautiful work is the wooden crate!

The crate you painted are excellent! Care to share your secret?
