Hi guys!

Finally got the courage to get started on a new dio base. It took me less then an hour to create the base. Next steps are:

-painting the base in sandcolours
-Add grasses, bushes etc
-Add final details

Happy to hear some thoughts

Always a mess afterwards, lol

Such an excellent base provided for an excellent model! I like it a lot, are there going to be figures included with this? I could imagine some germans standing on that rock watching a captured russian war machine go by!
outstanding!

Ola Jurjen

Very nice dio base you have there in progress mate. Everything seems to be in place. I love the big rock formation does remind me of where they get those slates for roofs and such ("Lei" in Dutch). Also the tree is very good. IS that homemade or did you use a real offer from mother nature.
Can`t wait on the next progress.

Knowing you it will be a very good project

Hi guys!

Thanks for your comments, they are really appreciated. Well to ask some questions:

@Shain: Well, sssssssssssssst figues? Lol, I'm a louzy figure painter and I should practise on them a lot more. But I do not enjoy them unfortunately. Maybe it is because I just feel unconfident about my skills to paint them....

@Brian: Some time ago I got a whole bunch of those trees from my friend Dominique (vanderboer) So it is just a natural material but I can't tell you where Dominique got it from.

@David: Don't know mate

@Zaidi: The big white rock is a plaster one. I used this:

http://www.woodlandscenics.com/
It is actually a rock mold where you put plaster in.

@Kevin: Thanks! I will do an update very soon. The whole base is painted in his base colours so these days I will do the colour variations.

@Robert: Thanks for the kind words! The tree is a mother nature. Nothing can beat her! :-)

@Matt: Yes that is real wood. Bought some bases on the KMK scaleworld earlier this year.

@Murat: Hi, I used plaster for the rock

Cheers all!

Jurjen

New update!

Painted some basics things like the big rock and the groundwork. And I put some static grass on the base which still needs to be painted. Then I will add some bushes and some other vegetation.

Cheers all! (especially to you David, lol)

Hey Jurjen... it looks great! Great job on the colours too!
Hmm... how about some leaves under under and around the tree?

Looking forward to seeing it completed!
