Hi all,
This is what I'm going to do for this campaign.
I know it's a figure but at least it has one panel of a plane in it :-) :-) :-)
It'll be a while before I've got anything to show. Can't afford to buy it till next month
All the best

Hi TC,
VLS If that means Verlindens 120mm guy then yes it is The B17 Gunner as I'm sure you recognise.
Sorry, I meant to say that in the first post but must have got to excited and forgot, :-)
I saw this one the first time at a model show about a year ago and fancied it ever since. You guys just gave me the excuse to buy it that I was looking for but for gawd sake don't tell SWMBO
I'll keep you posted
Take it steady

Vic,
Great choice !!!
I've had that in my stash for a while & will be looking for all your tips & techniques to help me out ...
Did you ever wonder why Verlinden tagged it a "Two O'Clock High" when in fact the gunner is pointing toward Four O'Clock ???
John

Nice... I have been wanting one as well-perhaps one of these days.
Have you guys seen the "Waist Gunner Down" in 1/35? that is a cool one.
PS... is the above gunner pointing four? or is it ten??? I guess we need to find out which way did the gunner windows slide open... I certainly have no idea.

Hi John, I got to admit it did cross my mind :-)
Isn't there a film called two o'clock high?

Hi Tommy-G
:-) :-) That's another good point
I just automatically assume left is front, it just seems to fit but maybe not eh.

I hadn't seen this one before, I just checked it out. Maybe one for the future.
I know, how about fitting them together and having one complete scene inside the plane :-) :-)

Gunner is facing 4 not 10.
The movie is "Twelve O'Clock High" - a classic.
IMHO, "Waist Gunner Down" is simply an effort to reuse the above kit with little enhanced value.
My other objection to the kit is the 50-cal setup -- that is really an B17E mount, or maybe very early F-model. Barely operational in Europe ... it would have been better (more meaningful) to use a later F or a G model mount ...
I had thought about redoing the mount & ammo to a later model, but to do so would mean relocating the ammo to the right side of the fuselage & thus I'd need to scratch-add on fuselage ... but my interest/motivation level to do so is low at this point ...
Again, Vic, looking forward to your build ....
