Ola Guys
Some of you might remember that I`m working on a Motorcycle diorama for the people who don't remember you can view the last update here:
Woh Geht's Zum Krieg? Dio in Progress
Ok last week I have been slowly (As all the progress) building on a fence that will come on the righthandside of the dio. It will contain all the signs. That are pointing in all directions. Making the confusion for the motorcyclists complete. Keep in mind it is in progress and the signs itself needs to be painted just as the fence itself that needs a little extra work.
Here are the pics. As usual I`m really curious what you guys think of it and feedback is of course always welcome.
Of course the fence is 1:35. Any feedback is welcome

Faust, excellent work my friend! This fence is really something, the busy look of it is exactly how I'd picture it. From the grain of the wood, the positioning of the slats, and the tack marks from the nails, I know it will fit in just fine.

Man -which way to go???? This is great. Wonderful blending of size shape and elevation. Composition A+
The close up shots are a little 'hairy', I would try and trim down the burrs a bit.

Dude. . . 'er I should say General:
Whoa, Nellie. This is just wonderful. So creative
and, dare I say the word? ARTISTIC?!!!!!
Excellent compositon, proportions, one element
in relation to the other. Really hard to believe
that a group of signs can rate so high on the
"eye candy " spectrometer, huh?
Just goes to show how any aspect of a dio
can be so exciting in the hands of a
talented modeler!!

Ola Guys
I know this is a really small update but with the speed I'm currently working at this is major progress for me.... (And I`m a little proud of it :-) :-) )
@Hilbert
Thanks for the comment I will try to get an update ASAP
@Jeroen
At this moment the fence did not meet a single scrap of wood. And probably it won't. I think the grain of Balsawood is too rough and big for 1:35. Therefor I used Evergreen Styrene instead. The signs will be handmade and handpainted. Just as the rest of the fence. I`m not using decals only pictures I got from you guys that show the real McCoy.
@Shain
Thanks for the comments really appreciate it
@ Scott
Also thanks for the comments.
About the hairy appearance. That was something I left deliberately there. The kind of fence I was going for is the Rough wooden not much work to it russian rural fence. Basically they have only sawed the planks to the correct lenght and nailed them there immediately. So I really like the appearance of it.
@ Rick
Thanks for the comments.
Next update will show some more paint and weathering on the fence as there is only yet one layer of paint on it. Also the first signs will hopefully be painted.
More comments are of course always welcome.

Hello Faust,
nice work so far. I'm looking forward for more.
Regarding the title you are better offf spelling it that way:
Wo geht's zum Krieg ?

Which way do i have to go??
Haha! great work friend! I really like the rough look. very interesting!
Just one thing... usually when you have sign point in one direction, there's no need for another one... unless the customer servier desk is next to a bathroom

I've been at that intersection!
Very nice work you have going there. I saw the picture before I saw your name associated with it, I knew it had to be yours.

Ola Guys
Thanks for the compliments.
@Patrick
You are very right there. When I wrote this post it was late and I was about to go to bed. And that is where the spelling probably went wrong. I will change it immediately. Nothing to be afraid of. The original title will still be connected to the dio.
@BEnjamin
Well the signs will not say Moskau 4000 Km to the right or Berlin 2000 Km left. It will mostly be military tactical roadsigns. Telling where you can find the next gasstation, Fieldhospital, Unit, Motorpool or garage, etc. etc. Eventually it will look like this:
@Scott
You know me... I never do something without a reason.
@Brian
Well the bikers are looking at the map... No Clue if they are able to read it.
@Kevin
I`m really looking forward to that part of the project too. It will bring the whole fence and all the signs to life. No Decals will be used. Only true workmanship with the hand.
@ Al
Are you saying you recognized my work? Am I forming some sort of "Style"? IS there something as the FAUST style.... That is really a compliment.
Thanks again for the replies. Very much appreciated again. More feedback is of course still welcome

Hi Robert
Amazing work , as newbie dio builder i would love to see the process you have for creating such realistic looking wood.
Have you ever considered doing a "how to " feature (pretty please) :-)

Thanks for the compliment. It is no problem for me to do a feature which is explaining the technique I used for this. It is pretty simple. But if I have a little time this weekend I will see what I can do.

Its a lovely piece of work Robert from the nail holes to the weathered, faded brown wood. With all these confusing signs it should provide quite a nice little story for you dio.

Well this weekend I have no time to make some pictures as I need some assistance and nobody is at home. I have however made the text already so when the pictures have been made I will make it a feature.

Thanks for the comments. More will follow
