Hi, I was over on the Drtgon site and saw an advertisement for a Panzer IV Ausf .E "Vorpanzer." Now I'm not expert on German armor, but this is the first time I have ever head of this specific type myself. I looked it up on the Net. somewhere and it said something about spaced armor on the Ausf. F units to defeat the 105mm emey ammunition.
Just curious if anybody else have run across this particular variation of this vehicle.
Thanks and take care, Larry

I've seen a couple of pictures of the add on armor on the front of the turret ,but this is one kit I won't be adding on to my collection ...kind of a rare bird ..

Yeah, I saw this too. I thought it might be kind of neat to have this one. I may pick it up, but not right after release. I want a few other people to buy it and build it first so I get an idea of quality etc. Rick, why wouldnt you want to add this to your collection? I was under the impression that 'rare' or unusual kits were kind of wanted????

I don't know it's just using the molds to their limits I guess I just bought the E and now we get the new and improved E with 4 (I don't know the real number of new parts but you get my drift) new parts... ..Ahh knowing me ,it'll end up on the ever growing pile of Plastic.

Strange - I think that's the name of a piece of additional hull armor that moved similar to a bulldozer blade from the front of the hull up to the glacis plate right below the driver's sight and machine gun on the very first prototype Tiger tank (not PzIV). It didn't make it into production models but was an interesting idea. Not sure why it was moveable - from my limited knowledge of such things it doesn't look particularly useful as armor in either position, and didn't seem quite right as a bulldozer blade either.

Spaced armour was added to the front of both Pz4 and Pz4. But when the Pz4 switched to the longer gun, the extra weight was too much and this armour was deleted.
This kit not only includes extra parts, it has a lot of little corrections to the Aurf E parts.

Ron, I bought it at Kings Hobby Shop in Austin, Texas. Paid right at $40 USD for it.
