Looks, excellent, Andrew. How 'bout a few close up shots? One suggestion is that you press the abandoned weapons and other debris a bit more firmly into the ground. Gives them the illusion of weight.

Dear Andrew
Looks good so far
but the Humvee and the groundwork seems really muddy for desert ?
You should remove it and used plastel powder or MIG pigment.
Good luck

Thanks David, I will press the gear in a bit deeper.
Seb, The desert where the Marine Recon units operated was not really fine sand, but rocky and a sand dirt mixture.

Andrew
Well the humvee looks really muddy even on the engine hood, i would imagine a more dusty aspect and this for 2 reasons :
1- Water in desert dry rapidly and the air at 1m from the floor is allready dry from my own experience.
2-Assuming that the ground is muddy, the heat of the engine will dry the muddy on the hood.
But it is your call
Keep posting pics
cheers

I know what you mean Seb, I was trying to get a dusty look on the Humvee hood, But it hasn't quite turned out right. What would you suggest I use for a better representation of dust?

Andrew, try chalks and/or acrylic powders. I've used the latter below and highly reccommend it. If you brush it on it looks like dust and if you rub it into crevices and recesses with your finger it looks like dried mud.

Thanks Kevin
David, I think I tried to be to fancy with this one and mixed the pastels with water to form a wash.........Must not have diluted it enough.

Dear Andrew
Thanks for you reply don't forget also to put the pastel on the ground, in order to have a uniform colour.
Good luck mate you have a good dio, and the mud/durt is not an issue for me.
Cheers
