Cool! What are these leaves made from? Are they natural? Some sort of a seed? And how exactly do they paint them?

Looks really realistic. I wonder if I find these products here in Poland.
Thank you for this review.

Thanks for the review!
Those leaves sure do come in handy. Any idea where I can get them?

Very useful product... I can see many uses for it - and I will be ordering for myself as well...
I'm curious as to why the product deserved an overall rating of 10 though... there was nothing in the text to lead me to believe that the product was "out-of this-world", "to-die-for" or "an-absolute-must-have", which in my book would earn it a rating of 10.
Just my 0.02ZAR...

The product looks good...nice to have a variety of colors. To answer Marty's question of what they are made from there is a trick on making your own leaves that look exactly the same. I'm assuming in Massachusets you guys have Birch trees, so the seed pods that fall can be twisted, so to speak, which causes the individual seedlings to fall off giving you great scale leaves. Ill have to post this with pictures to get the full grasp of what I'm talking about. Sorry moderators if this got off topic!

This does look like a very interesting product. I have a question? I've not used either H&A or Woodland Scenics. I see the coin in the picture to give an indication of size but I wondered if you had any idea how many square inches a bag of this material would cover? Just to give me an idea if it's worth the cost to buy and ship it.

Hi guys
Hey Scott, great review I have a few questions. What does the price translate to in USD ? Are they sold in the states, or just in the UK ? Lastly, and this is for anyone, anybody ever use them for a dio ?

Murdo,
I can't post the pics as I need to figure out my digital camera first and how to get a better close up of the birch seeds but here is a link I came across at Digital Dioramas: http://www.digitaldioramas.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=646 He does have pics up and you can see how they don't come prepackaged and painted but have the same effect. Again I apologize for getting off topic.

Scott...
Do you think that this product could be used in making your own camo netting? Instead of using crushed herbs and stuff.. The photo's provided appear to be exactly the ticket for some extremely realistic camo nets...

If indeed these are birch seeds then it's nothing new, with the exception of having it in different colors.

Mark,
Found this on the website:
While not mentioned in the review, the leaves are an "organic material" painted in an acrylic-latex paint...
I must say though... they certainly do have an interesting range of products - nothing we haven't seen from the train folks - but interesting none the less...

It works in many scales from HO to 25mm to 54mm and higher and can be also used for other detailing such as camouflage netting in combination with other products.
