Greetings fellow modelers, I've purchase the very fine Echelon decals (product number T35013) US ARMY's 3rd INFANTRY DIVISION. OIF. M1A1HA Abrams.
Used 3 of the markings already But want to be a bit accurate on the remainder 3 markings for :
3. "CAMEL TOW"
- 1st gun tank, 2nd Platoon, C Company
4. "COURTESY OF RED, WHITE & BLUE"
- 2nd gun tank, 2nd Platoon, C Company
- it was a tan painted tank, but part of the gun barrel was forest green
5. "CATALYST"
- 3rd gun tank, 2nd Platoon, C Company
Anyone have more pictures or information on these tanks ?
The only pictures I've got are of "camel tow" and "COURTESY OF RED, WHITE & BLUE" which are on the two-sided A4 size instruction sheet -- same as in the concord book Thunder Run.
Did they all have the bustle rack mounted EAPUs? It doesn't look like "Camel Tow" has an EAPU..or am I wrong?
Anyone know where the tow cables went? It's neither on the left side of the turret, nor hung on the front!! What about the other tow cable??
There also seems to be sandbags placed ontop of the hull?
Any help will be appreciated!!!
Thanks

Gino's the resident 3ID specialist but I am pretty sure that only a few of the 3ID tanks had EAPUs on them, most of them did not. I'm not sure what luck you will have but you can check here under OIF for photos of those tanks. I specifically remember there being at least one pic of "Courtesy of Red, White, and Blue." Hopefully I helped you out a bit.

Don't have any more pics or info on the tanks you are looking to model. As Kyle stated, most 3ID tanks did not have APUs. No idea on which did or didn't though. The Echelon sheets are pretty good at IDing which had them and which didn't. Follow them and you should be fine. Good luck.
