Gents. Just over at the Perth (PMMS) site, and found this excellent new in-box review of the soon-to-be-released Trumpeter 1/35th (TRP-0311) KV-1 "Big Turret" by Terry Ashley:

HERE

This is the early version KV-2 M1939, and it is the 6th release by Trumpeter in their excellent line of KV-1/KV-2 kits.

More then likely there will be a review here on Armorama, by our very own Jim Rae, but I wanted to help him out by getting the "buzz" started

Cheers !!

Hi Robert,

Thanks for the mention and the kit has been released in the Asian market and soon the rest of the world.

I have a question if I may and l please don't take this wrong way.
I was wondering apart from a full build review how more detailed do people want?

A review that has a detailed description and detailed close up images of the parts including tips on construction plus full listings of available references and some aftermarket items, so what else is missing?
But of course other opinions on kits is always welcome for a more overall view of the kit.

As I said apart from a full build I was just wondering so I may improve and provide people with what they want.

I'm sure other reviewers would be interested in feedback also.

Cheers

G'day Terry. Looks like I used a poor choice of words in my post. I have edited my post, so I'm sorry if I offended you in any way.

I visit your website (PMMS) daily and always look for, and read your great reviews. For me, as both an armor modelling enthuisiast, and a hobby shop owner, I really depend on your reviews, for both kits I want to have in my own collection, as well as kits to stock my shelves with.

Your reviews are always detailed, concise, and have pictures of each sprue and all contents of that kit. You're doing a great job, and I was only trying to share with fellow Armorama members this very review in question. I never intended to make you feel like your reviews werent good enough. Your reviews are tops !

I guess in short, I jumped the gun on my post, and I may have stepped on some toes in the process. My apologies. Nothing a few tall cool Fosters "big blokes" can fix, right ?

Cheers !!

Robert

The only thing I can think of, and it might be very difficult to do but since you asked, is a side by side comparision of the parts where there is some difference in detail. For example, there was some mention about the rear doors of the turret were different. A pic of the first KV2 and the new KV2 rear doors would be interesting but probably not practical.

BTW Terry I really hate you. I love reading your reviews and have lightened my wallet on many occasions because of your reviews

Hi Robert,

No, no offence taken. I was just wondering if there was anything else that could be added that would be of interest.

Thanks for the kind words.

And thanks for the suggestion Alan, I have added a few more images of the old and new road wheels and idlers plus of the barrels. I'll add some more of the turret shortly.

Cheers
Terry A
