Yesterday I struck gold... I discovered the AFV Modeller magazine...
At last a magazine that tries to teach us readers something.
A magazine that don't contain 50% advertising.
Pure AFV/diorama modelling all the way through... (:-)

I've seen this mag at the local Hobbytown USA but at $14 a pop I'd be hard pressed to buy it unless it contained a subject I was interested in. I think their on their 5th or sixth issue now but you've got to wonder how long they'll be able to maintain this standard with no advertising. It is a very nice mag though.
Here's a link to their website for those of you who have never heard of it:

I am in agreement with TinCan. While it is nicely put together, at that price I will be selective about the issues I purchase. Heck, another 95 cents and you can pickup one of the Concord books!

I got my subscription for about eleven bucks an issue. I find it worth every dollar. The quality of the models is top notch, and most importantly, it is completely dedicated to armor! :-) Even on subjects that I am not that interested in, I can always find tips on construction and/or painting.
Just my two cents,
Stuke

I've bought only one issue, and enjoyed it . btu as mentioned I 'll be chosing which issues I buy. As far as adverts go ,I use them to get the best prices and if I get a regular dose of armour while I'm at it,well :-) . thats why for Me MMIR is my armor mag of choice best overall ballance for armour and associated stuff.

I agree that it is a bit expensive. But where I live, it doesn't cost more than Fine Scale which is packed with shipstuff, aircraft stuff and advertisements.
That's why I think AFV Modeller is so great. Just armor... expert tips...

Oh and here is another IdeaI only save MMir issues and Idf issues of other magazines. I got this deal with a buddy of mine in the UK I send him my old Finescale he sends me old issues of Militlary modelcraaft and Military modelling when I need it. Momma always did teach me to share nicely.

Hi,
I've got to agree with Stuke on this. I have every issue and I feel they are all well worth the price. Even in the articles on vehicles I don't have much interest in I can find tips, and the pictures are all excellent quality. My subscription recently ran out but my mother in-law is getting me a new one for Christmas. (:-)
Long live AFV Modeller!
