Just wanted to share

The other day I was holiday shoping and found a new brand of pre-built trees. Lemax has a Village Collection of products - some of which are trees, snow covered or not, pine or not, a wide variety. They are pretty nice quality and contstruction. Worth a look.

I guess thats why people are looking for a good scratchbuilt tree.... I wouldnt want to have to order a forest from them in 1/35 scale.... cost an absolute fortune!

There is no given scale that does kinda stink. I found them in a local craft store, again, that was in the US that does kinda stink for you guys and gals over the pond.
The cost of a forest would be huge ordering from the site. My local shop had them at about $2-3 per tree, $5-6 per pair.

You can get these and many other types of trees and accessories from anywhere that carries Christmas village stuff. Most gift/ card stores and large discount/ department stores carry them as well. I have found many things that work as accessories, notably birds and animals. Some of the street lamps and sign posts work well too. The bridges and wall sets are also nice. The scale of most is slightly larger than 1/35th, but will work pretty well. The trees are really good for most especially if you are looking for bare, winter trees.

And the decorative trees, buildings, etc. that are Christmas-themed are usually heavily discounted after Christmas -- good time to stock up

I also use the Lemax trees... they are very flexible (Aluminum core), and do quite well in our scale. The other thing that is really handy is their little pair of row-boats... while the oars are a joke, the actual two boats ($6.95 list) are a great size for a one-man boat. I used them in my "Scartchbuilt Diorama" article.... I also use some of their stuff like the lobster crates and some of their other accessories. Scale isn't always exact... but it "looks right"....
