Can anyone shed some light.which pastels do i use for weathering,i have already purchased some oil pastels not realising there were any other types.Can i use them or not and if so how

Hi Steve,
Stay away from the oil pastels, they will not work good for weathering.
You need to get the chalk pastels, usually you can get a small colour range package for not too much money, just make sure the basic colours are there, black, white, some earth tones. What I've done is take the entire stick of pastel, and throw it in a little coffee bean grinder I picked up at a garage sale. Grind the whole pastel up into fine powder, then I added the pastel powder into the large Mon-Sun type of pill holders, works great!
