The PE looks pretty impressive. Your soldering definitely looks good.
When working with PE, do you use an etch mate or a similar product, or do you get by, with a good set of pliers?

Thanks Jesper! I use a 2 inch hold and fold and a pair of parallel pliers for all my bending

Thanks Christian! The waffle pattern Zimmerit is made with Magic Sculpt epoxy putty and a patten maker from Ordanace Models.

Cheers!

Just a quick update. I have been out of action for the last 3 days with Rotovirus, thus I haven't accomplished much.

Here is the Schurtzen frame work for the left side in my solder jig. This was fun as alot of the joint are close together!

Thanks Zod. I dunno bout AMPS this year, Kinda too far to drive, and I don't want to spend the scratch to fly, then rent a car.

For those interested in my painting style, here are some more inprogress pics.

This is the second black primer coat. I try to make sure I don't miss any areas with coverage, as this will be the shadows in the deep recesses between panels and such.

Here is the first application of the base coat. Its still in progress, but I am about 1.5 hours into this color - so its very time consuming. But you can see where I let some of the black show through at this point.

After this coat is completed and lighter shade of the base coat will be sprayed even tighter in the panel areas. Then a final post shade with an even lighter and thinner coat to blend it all together. More pics to follow as I get bench time!

Cheers

Impressive job sofar John. I take it that you do your base yellow coat panel by panel, with a fine nozzle? I like they way it comes up, it shows the zimmerit off to a treat.

Cheers

Thanks Henk,

That's exactly what I do. The primer coat is done with my Aztec 470, but the base coat and beyond is done with an Iwata Custom Micron SB with a matched head system.
