Hey All

Got a Tamiya HG Superfine airbrush from Santa. Can anyone tell me where I can get spare parts - like a needle ?

Thanks

Tamiya's HG airbrush is made by Iwata so you should be able to get compatible parts from you online airbrush dealers. Make sure you talk to someone who has knowledge about airbrushes.

Hi there Pete

congrats on the nice piece of ab that u got from mr santa.

well, i own this ab and once i bend the needle. the only cheap spare part i can get from this part of the world is from rainbow10 in Japan. they're cheap compare to the one in coastal airbrush (US)

rainbow10 have all the spare parts, just email them and ask the part number that u need (part numbers are printed in the user's manual) ... some of the part will not be displayed in the website if u do the search... email them and they will try to get them..

hope this help

one things i'm curios if i may ask, how come u need the spare part while the ab is still new?? Is santa broke the needle?? hehe

Coast airbrush and Bear Air both carry spares in the states, but if you are in Aus, Rainbow 10 is just as easy.

Yeah, I needed a spare ( read as : replacement )needle pretty quickly, it's about US$11, but the tip was $42 !!

Be really careful and do not bump into anything when you've got the crown off.. actually take the needle out FIRST.

I found that the old needle, reversed, made a great trigger holder while cleaning. Just run in in far enough to engage the trigger parts and then clean away w/o worrying about losing the trigger.

A bit of equal sized brass rod works just as well,

Have fun, it's a great gun.

Thanks guys

Reason I'm after where I can get spares - no, Santa hasn't broken, bent, dropped or knocked the 'brush YET !! I was very clumsly with my last AB (a Paasche VL) when I first got it and was learning about cleaning it.

Just wanted to make sure I could get parts when the inevitable happens

I have used Rainbow 10 many times in the past and find their service to be 1st class. It is comforting to know I can get spares there.

Thanks again

Does anybody else sell these needles and nozzles. Rainbow tens service is great, but they do not have a secure website so payment by creditcard is a bit risky..
