Hello,
Im new to this forum, so I hope this hasnt been asked a thousand times.
I recently bought the Tamiya Marder III (M) kit for my return to the hobby after a 15 year hiatus. I was dissapointed to find that Tamiya is still using crappy old tracks. I need to find some after-market tracks for this kit, its built on a 38T chassis as Im sure you know. I was hoping some kind soul could point me in the right direction.

Thanks

CRAP!! My mistake, I misspelled Marder when I did a search on the forum for previous posts on this subject. Now I see the review for the kit and find that a company called Modelkasten makes tracks for the 38T series.
Its amazing to see how much has happened to the hobby in the last 15 years

Andy, thanks for the welcome!

Do you have an opinion on which one is better?

Im really enjoying modelling again, it was just too difficult to pursue while in the military so I let it go for awhile. But now that Ima civillian again I have time and space to get back into it.

WWII Productions from Australia make a click together resin links for the 38T chassis. These guys were formerly Anvil and were much loved.

I like these over the Fruil since Fruil does NOT make the tracks 'handed'. That is they do not make a right hand side run and a run for the left.
In the end, on one side or the other the hole where you have to insert the pin shows. You could punch out 50+ tiny disks, cut slices of hex rod, or gunk them up with mud, but it is just another step you might feel like you had to do.,

I won't even go into the teduim of re-drilling all the holes in the links, cutting pins, and tiny drops of glue to hold them in place.

I worked for 3 plus hours on a set of fruil 251 tracks, then on another trip into the stash found a pair of Anvils. 30 min later I had both runs cleaned up and clicked together!
The price is equivalent as well.

Might be worth checking out.

My US$ 0.02, your miliage may vary.

I've used the old Anvil (WWII Prod) before. No complaints and I'd use them again but my prefernce is the Friul tracks. They just look the most authentic to me.
