Hi all,

Today the battle continued......about 25 1/16 and 1/15 tanks were involved in a large battle.

Some rare models, like a Jagdpanzer and two Panther tanks were present.

Wow, imagine the sound of that battle.
However, the real question is: Did you get your butt kicked, Martin? :-)

Cheers

Lol well I'm happy with the battle results. During one of the battles I was the best Allied tank but I was on my own against 2 Tigers and a Jagdpanzer. Knocked out 1 of them and got destroyed myself then.

Lol yeah I'm a rookie, I didn't stand a chance against 3 veteran German tanks with my crippled Pershing (25% speed, not working turret)

I could use some training!

But still I'm proud I was the last tank left to defend the Allied base

doh what would you do when you're ambushing your enemy? Exposing yourself to the fire of 7 Germans?

I wasn't behind the building the whole time. I moved behind the building when reloading and I moved back into position to fire once reloaded. After I fired I took cover behind the nearest building.
There's no use in being a sitting duck when reloading!

Also, when you're the only one left you HAVE to take cover or you'll receive a lot of shots in short time and you can forget about winning.

Jurjen should not make me look stupid, he was too chicken to join the battle himself :-)

The Panther costs 1600 euros and then you only have the outside of the tank, no Tamiya full option electronics and engines like this one has.

Too expensive for me but I'd really love to have one

Nope, thats not a typo:

http://www.rcpanzer-shop.de/panther_en.php

Remember, this is small-quantity production, metal hull & suspension, and fibreglas hull and turret.

Willy Loewer's report (from the Armorhut)

Maybe I missed the point here... is the question about pricing in relation to other 1/16-1/15 tanks or just from technical nature ? (it was also being discussed in ArmorHut)

If it's about pricing , well you can't compare a product made in a small series with a product from a major company pumping out R/C kit's by the 1000's...

I don't know how many of these Panther's Markus sold so far , but I am almost positive if he would get orders by the 1000's , he would find way's to produce this kit much cheaper...

Speaking of reliably of this Panther... the chassis is nice thick alumium frame with a solid gearbox, ( excepted that the gear-ratio is way to fast , not enought torque ) and the tracks seam to be to soft... I run the modified Panther as a test with Tiger tracks ....

The turret-rotation is a solid designe , it just takes up some valuable room in the hull , that's why I mentioned that as well where it needs a mod..., plus it has some backlash in there wher you lose some vaulable time ( in combat ) if you reverse the rotation-direction...

And the gun-elevation is limited by the size of the turret..., as well from the installation of the TBU... not by the designe... if the TBU get's installed differntly I don't see no problem with altering the gun-elevation...

For me it looks like Markus Panther was designed as a nice scale-model, unfurtentely the combat-battle-functions need improvements
