Which are the best brushes for drybrushing and washing. I find that cheap brushes hold too much wash and don't do a good job.

I would suggest you revells brusher,specialy the Painta luxus series,they are great for washes and drybrushing,I use them :-)

Mongolian Sable brushes are specifically made for drybrushing, and
they work excellent. I use them, and find better coverage than a regular
flat red sable. You can find this set at Micro -Mark:

You can easily make your own too. I made a couple like the ones Ralph showed above with some of my older brushes. Just use a sharp pair of sizzors and cut them into the shape above. The shorter the bristles are, the stiffer they become. They work great for me.

Hello, Godfather. I have one basic rule: always red sable!! For drybrushing I use a flat #10 brush and for washing a round #5, so I have some space to work with.
