Okay, I think I am finally about done. It is April, 1945. Having already lost his only son to the meat grinder that was the Eastern Front and his wife to an air raid, Gunter Schenckle, having been pressed into the Volksturm anyway, takes his last bottle of wine, good cheese, and dark bread out on the roof to wait for the Russian horde. He doesn’t expect to come back in the window he climbed out of. He has “Nothing Left to Give.”

Cost:
The building was next to free, made from scrap paneling, balsa wood scraps and grocery bags (sacks, depending on what part of the States you are from.) Call it $2.00
The figure is from a DML set of 4. Retail about 7 bucks. Call the figure about $2.00.
Grenades, Panzerfaust, and wine bottle were from the spares box. Call that about $ .50.
The cheese was scratch built.
Total cost estimate: Less than $5.00.


I posted pictures in the gallery thingy, (the link is below) but wait until we have a sunny day here in Indiana so I can get outside and take some good pictures. That may be in late May, the way weather works here...

Keenan - great concept! But I only see three pictures for NTLTL..... post two more, and try to give me some close ups of the figure and details.... give yourself the best shot. I also had to smile when I saw how well you hugged that 4x6 perimeter...

You have cropped the roof section very well, with all the action well visible. Roof construction looks convincing.
The chopped sides of the rooftop still seem to require some work to make it looks "finished"... (pic NLTG3) Maybe add some bird droppings?

The roof idea was well executed : using the rooftop as a safety barrier. I thought Gunter would be a sitting duck on that roof, but his position is not too bad.
You fully used the small dio contstraints to the full extent. Nice job !

Envar, you're right. I didn't notice the side wasn't finished until you mentioned it. It is fixed now. I will have to bust out the tripod to try and get 2 good detail photos. My sister-in law also said the "guy needs a knife to cut his cheese and bread." Go figure, no pun intended.
