Has anyone ever seen or come across the Kirin AAVP7A1 EAAK armor set-is it any good. I saw this set in a old Mil Mod magazine looks pretty good, shame kirin stoped producing. I guess the only I could get it is second hand-anyone got one?

HI

I have one and while the resin was good, the styrene stowage racks had to be chucked because they were warped so bad.

There is another set out now so you may be able to find it easier.

Rob,
I spent ages seeking this very set, but after searching Ebay, contless model shops and even word of mouth I have given up looking and just built my Amtrac as is.
I suppose if I happened to see any odd Kirin bits in the future I would probably be tempted again though.

Thanks for the responses guys. I am aware of the Hobby fan and up and coming warriors release, its just that fact I find Kirin stuff interesting simply becuase you can buy it anymore-some of their kits are pretty rare. Its kind of stupid really but I like to have rare and old kits, ive been collecting a few sets of kirin figures becuase of the fact they are OOP. Haha oh well I look forward to seeing the warriors kit, perhaps it will be a little cheaper than the Hobby fan one.

The hobby fan one is relatively cheap at hobby easy . I think i spent about 50 US for mine a while back. Good people too, I am by no means trying to advertise for this place, just my 2 cents worth.

$50 for a couple dozen pieces of resin is nuts to me. Guess we have different perspectives on what Relatively Cheap is. All Hobby Fan stuff is way over priced if you ask me. I'll stick to modifying the Trumpeter EEAK set for mine.

You are a lucky man, Herky : last time I had a look at their website (=today), this kit was listed at $100.64 (postage not included).....

Oh believe me gino, if i could find the trumpeter one i would use it. I have never seen it.... I also do not possess the same skills as you, so i have to pay a little more sometimes to get even close to the quality you put out.

Oh and make sure you arent pricing the hobby fan interior, that is 100 bucks frenchy
Just checked and it was 56 US dollars For it postage inclided to france, still alot, but compared to what some places sell them for it is cheap.

It is easy to get your hand snapped off for Kirin goods, I have to stop a friend trying to aquire my US Helicopter crew every time he call round.

Dont forget that AEF designs has a EAAK set as well. I bought it, and it looks nice. (in fact, I sold my kirin one after recieving this one) There newer stuff is very well molded and looks good. They also have a cool rucksack/pack set with a whole load of USMC sacks and packs to line your AAV with.

Prices are very reasonalble.
