I'm working on a diorama that will have a french bombed out building with a small courtyard that i wish to use as a refuelling re-arming station for tanks. Can anyone please let me know how 45gal/200l fuel drums would have been stored as well as jerry cans. Would they have been stored on one level or stacked vertically/horizontally. I'm thinking in terms of 30/40 drums and a similar quantity of jerry cans.

As far as I know, fuel drums were stored vertically ones after the others forming big rows of drums, one after the other. Jerrycans were kept the same way! Both were never kept in piles while full! Hope I was of some help!
