i try to photograph all of my work, and hate using the old "white or blue backdrop" cloth. After searching around for a while, I finally found 9and ordered!) two nice backgrounds that will look great behind a dio. Michigan Toy Soldier company offers JG Miniatures line of large sheets (10 x 14") and the nice thing is, they fit together to allow for a longer viewing area... (10 x 28). When they arrive I will post a few test photos. i ordered the WWII Euro Urban Ruins and also the Battlefield set. Here is a link to the photo of a section of the Urban setting, to give you an idea of what I'm talking about.
The link for Michigan Toy is www.michtoy.com, and you can subscribe to their nice newsletter. These guys sell a lot of "toy" pieces in 1:32 that also work well in many dioramas... such as the really cool "office furniture" kit.

Good site! Thanks.
I think your background will look nice when photographed slightly out of focus. Wish they had a bigger selection that fit more WWII subjects.
The two you picked are probably best for what most of us here do.
Look forward to seeing some finished photos.

I think they have serveral others that could be used "out of focus" for WW2... certainly the desert bacgrounds (Afrika Korps v 8th Army) and the "countryside" (Bocage?) backgrounds would work as well. Even the "crimea war" and civil war backgrounds could come into play with some situations. At $5.00 each, the investment is minimal!

I'm sure other pictures could be even better, if taken from the right perspective.

Jan - I would agree - can't believe it was so hard just to find these few. I'd really like to traipse through the small (and large) hobby shops in Europe to find more things like this... what do they have that might be similar in Belgium? Maybe a few of our more talented graphic-artist types might want to try their hand at creating a few digital backgrounds for us, eh?
