Gday All,
I just posted this question without a topic so god knows where it will end up, sorry.
I am currently building the Dragon Brumbar and haven't been able to find any reference photo's of one on a Panzer IV Aus J chassis as it is depicted on the model. Also does anyone know how many Brummies were made on the Aus J chassis ??
Any help would be greatful

Cheers

Hi Alex,

I know how you feel....its really hard to find photos of Late Brummbars considering that there were just a few of them. I guess the only help I could give you is to post some pics w/c you probably already have...anyway here goes
Brummbars

I hope this helps...
PS.
I'll probably leave them there for just a week...

Arvin,
Thanks for the pics mate. I have several books with some of those photos in them. A pity they are so rare. I really like the look of the Grizly.

Cheers

Alex,

if you know a way to distinguish the J version from the front or side... I may be wrong but I can distinguish in only by the exhaust pipes, eg in this picture it may be a J:

I have other pictures of Brummbars but cannot say whether they are J...

Eric,
Yes that is a J I believe but it is very confusing. The Dragon Brumbar has only three steel track return wheels whereas I can only find pics of Aus J's with four return wheels.
The beast is hard to track down that's for sure.

Alex,

That's the same problem I encountered while building the kit. Those darn return rollers keep ruining the momentum :-) ...I gave up looking for an actual footage/photo because I feared I might not be able to finish the keep if I keep on looking for an appropriate picture.

I started on my Brummbar today. I have teh Shanghai Dragon kit # 6081 Late Version. I also got the Jaguar conversion for the kit which has zimmerit on it. So far so good. Had to do some chopping here and there. I will post some pics when I have something to post.

Goof luck

Hi,

If the model only has 3 return rollers I think that may suggest it was one of the final production type J chassis. I will have a look through some of my books and see if I have any pictures to send to you.

ive built the brumbar by dragon, its a excellant model, went together great, built mine about 6 months ago,but check the comannders hatch and ring, the one that was furnished with the model, did not match up with what is on the instruction sheet, and the one supplied with the model didn't come close to fitting,i sent out afew emails ,and got directed to DragonUSA,they new what i was talking about, and within a few days, received a package from them with a premade up baggie with all of the correct parts.apparently, this is a problem thier aware of ,and will take care of right away.good job on DML,with their customer support dept.
