I think these will be the final pics before winter will set in on my dio...... Some weathering here and there, but then it's about done. After this the outside is supposed to get a winter dress and the inside will be filled with all kinds of materials.

On the inside a soldier will be staring at the crucifix that was made by the former visitors......his mind wandering .......home....wife..... kids.....will I ever see them again..........

He only knows too well that outside the winter and the Germans are his enemies in an ultimate effort to prevent that he will be going home soon.......

It's only my second diorama of my life, so plenty of room for improvement. But that's what this contest is all about....learn and share. And I must admit....it's pure fun to do !!

LOL ! Atthur, this is not about winning : it's about learning from eachother. I'm happy to experience how Danny is messing with the woodwork, how Ralf is struggling to find a better picture to stick behind the wagon's window and to read Toni's thoughts about the bottle of Sliwowitz and the roof of his building. Not to mention how most of us curse to find the right way to model snow.
To be honest : I already KNOW I can't win (dio = oversized), but I never had so much modeling fun as during the last month with this small vignette.
I hope the same goes for all who compete here.

I agree Jan, at first I thought there was no way you could build a decent diorama for $30. The budget constraint forced me to scratchbuild my building and a bed. Something I probably would have never tried without the contest. I don't expect to win anything, but this little contest sure has been fun. (I hope to have some pictures and my story soon.)
