I purchased the Tamiya M-1025 Humvee Armament Carrier. I have tried to find the detail set for this Tamiya kit. I have had no luck. I have found the interior and exterior detail sets for the Academy M-1025 model. Has anyone ever mix matched a Tamiya model with an Academy detail set? Will it work or is there a big difference in the two kits?

Are you refering to the eduard Academy detail sets or the verlinden detail set for the Academy kit. To be quite honest you need the new eduard set-its brilliant and fits right in the Tamiya kit. If you are refering to the Verlinden interior detail set then you can use it to a degree, but to be honest it lacks a lot of details and isnt too great for the latest humvees. Where you need a new radio and mounts, door details, and the cargo hatch needs some details such as hydrylic arms, wireing etc.
Id say try and get the eduard set. Or try the verlinden one (if thats what you mean) and do a bit of scratchbuilding-if you meant the eduard academy detail sets then I have no idea how good they are.
