Ok... let's see how this goes. I mentally battled back-n-forth the whole time I have been working on the three 48th Jugs (Tamiya new Razorback, PM gawd-awful P-47N, and the Koster vac converstion XP-47J) about what I would use for those 3 NMF coats... I have used SnJ and LOVED it... but, they are going OOB so I don't really want to use my last bottle of it in one swoop... Considered the foil... but chickened-out... Thought about the Metalizers... but I have a love/hate relationship with them overall, and since I want to have various shades on panels - I didn't want to worry about the masking.
So Alclad II it is after reading a lot of near cult-like reviews of it!
I also got a bottle of the Alclad primer, and I will also get some of that plastikote sandable primer at Michaels crafts tomorrow... and then I'll prime them and see how it goes. I got 4 different shades of the Alclad ($7 before discount for IPMS members), and I'll be spraying the primer tomorrow most likely, and maybe start the NMF stuff on Monday if everything flows (and dries) well.
The 2 operational Jugs I will try to have a more toned-down finish to them, but the XP-47J I will probably use more of the polished aluminum shade since I would suspect they'd keep that one pretty shiny and probably spent a lot of its days hangered and not sitting out in the Pacific Theatre weather!
Any particular good chants and sacrifices I should make to the modelling muses/gods before I break-out the airbrush?
Have a great weekend, everyone, and I hope many of y'all get Monday off as we do here, and get to sand and snip loads of sprue!

Let me know what the primer is like as i haven't used that yet. Shake the bottle well with the Alclad and wear a mask as the stuff stinks and is probably not good for you either.
