Hi Jan,

So far you are doing a very fine job on your JT.

BTW, did you fix the barrel length? They said its approximately 4mm short because when those DML guys measured it the barrel was in recoil. I hope its not yet glued because you can still fix it .

If you are interested I'll post some pics of how I I managed to fix the barrel length. BTW, the latest FSM (Feb) has a review of the DML JT and thats where they said its still short.

Cheers

MOnstous looking beast. Sure glad I wasn't in WW 2 coming around the corner in a Sherman and seeing one of those. I'm trying to pick one up on E-bay at present, but keep getting outbid. Well As i already have a ton of Tiger 1's and II's still in the que, it might be 2008 before I could even get around to making one of these

Yes, photo's taking against a backlight can be very romantic if the subject matter is a pretty girl, however when photographing plastic models it is beneficial to have the lightsource on the same side as the camera... :-) :-)

Zover ziet ie er goed uit, laat gouw what photo's met verf zien.

Groeten,
Henk

Nice looking Jagdtiger so far. Are you using the kit-supplied barrel ? Also the tool clasps, are they from the kit, or maybe Aber ?

Weld seams look really good, what did you use for them ?

I will be keeping an eye on how you make out. Cant beat a good Jagdtiger

Cheers !!

Hi Jan,

I just added a spacer at the end of the aluminum barrel. See pic below:

The circumference if the spacer is approximately 19mm. and 3mm wide (the correct width should be 4mm, but I feel that its to wide)

This is how it looked

BTW, I used two strips of the same thickness because I do not have a thick styrene sheet, but if you have one that is approx. 1.5mm thick then you can use it.

After inserting the spacer, you would notice that when you insert into the gun breach it would fall-out because the barrel end is now too short. All you need to do is to shim the inside of the breach with a any spacer you could find, jut to make the barrel fit in nicely. I used a thin aluminum sheet. I rolled it to fit into the breach...see pic below:

I just pushed the shim inside...

This is the end product

Now with the complete pic..

I hope this helps....don't hesitate to ask if you have some clarifications...

BTW, the barrel spacer is not glued...
Cheers

Looks good Jan. Reminds me of the one I have almost built in my closet. I purchased the Jaguar interior for it. The last bit of construction was to replace the kit roof with the resin one. The only thing that got removed was a slice of my finger and I never went back to it.

Didn't know that about the barrel though. I have the CMK barrel and mantlet set though.

yes it is the kit-supplied barrel
as for the weld's i used putty+glue for the large one's and i used the scalpel for the smaller one's (pressing it in the plastic and twisting it)

Thank you guy's for the kind word's

I used the "new" (it's still the old one with new bit's added). It's great little kit.
