As promised, here's some blurry photos of my latest Zimmerit attempt. Don't worry, the tracks aren't glued on yet, just slipped into position.
The method used was a worn out Junior hacksaw blade snapped into bits - I'm nothing if not cheapskate...!

Steve, Is that Squadron Green Putty? If so, how much did you thin it and with what?

Squadron putty it is indeed, well spotted folks (the green colour was a clue I suppose!). What do you mean thin it? Did I do something wrong again? I just spread it on as thin as it would go with a knife then dragged the saw blade through. It was a very messy process - a fair portion of the putty seemed to end up on the floor - but you can't create without mess, right folks? I'm still not sure I'm totally satisfied, you can see bits sort of "came away" as I scraped it, so I had to go over some bits again. Also, does the pattern look heavy enough to you? The last one I did, I used a screwdriver, but was looking for a more even pattern this time.
