You know what makes this diorama outstanding? You used the figures that usually get stuck on the 251 on an Opel - Nicely done.

I'm sure as you read forum threads and see other dioramas your skills will improve - nice start.

If you'd like pointers on specifics you can post a thread in the Rivet Review Board too.

Hi Gary!
I really like the overall feeling I get from it, and especially the signpole! The only con I can find is the body in front of the truck wich doesn´t lay flat on the ground, otherwise nice! Btw, what grass did you use?
Cheers Andreas

I had problems trying to get the front down, it kept on seperating. The grass is HEKI that I got off e-bay. Its quite hard to get your hands on heki grass in UK model shops.

Yeah, I like it too. Looks promising. The figures looks good, some more of the soldiers equipment in/on the truck could be an idea. Just an idea.

I like it. Good work

I like it! It's a great little piece. One thing I did notice which the others haven't mentioned is that the two people climbing out of the truck seem to be in exactly the same pose, not what I would have done, but if you're happy with it (and you should be) thats ok! Other than that it all seems excellent!

Thanks for sharing.

Great Great Work.... And very nice composition... You can always say one or two things about models....

I think you should remove the body lieying in front, he lies to much of the ground... and maybe you can change the equipment behind the soldiers... its all in the same place in all...

Still Its a great great job... Keep up the good work

Gary:

You did a 'smashing' job painting and weathering
the Opel truck. Very nice, after checking out your
gallery, I notice that you also make your terrain
something other than flat — as in having a table
top effect — like the real world. I particularly
liked that and try to remember the point for my
dios as well.

Only point I'd make other than what has been said,
and this: and its just my personal taste; I'd like to
see more variety of tone and color on the soil.
You have that variety if tone and color in the
Heki grass you're using. Just a suggestion.
But very nice work.

The dead figure is the most obvious issue to me. Not only is he floating off the ground but how did he get killed in an ambush in front of the truck? I can't tell if there is a driver but I would think a bullethole in the windshield would look cool
