Just got this kit at a club meeting and it looks a good kit for the money so far ( mine plough, copper chain, hydraulic lines for $25Au is unexpected) , but the suggested color of Tamiya XF-59 looks too "warm" a shade compared to the pics I've been able to find. Some photos show the tanks as almost a vey pale lemon yellow - a trick of the light, heavy coat of dust or what?

Any info appreciated.
Tim.

Modern post-Gulf War tanks use a very yellow shade of sand. During the Gulf War, the shade of sand varied from a pinkish sand to a very tan shade.Model Master makes a decent armor sand you can use.

Thanks guys.
Maybe dark yellow mixed with a bit of deck tan perhaps ? I have a book with a few good colour photo's that show a dirty creamy yellow rather than a reddish sand, and a few others I've found on the net seem to suggest that may be the way to go.
It's building well so far btw, quite happy with my purchase at this stage - tho I haven't got to the TWMP yet.
