Newbie posting for the 1st time
I'm toying with the idea of mounting the ICM 1/35 100mm BS-3 Field Gun on a new SP Mounting.
I'm thinking of a Tamiya Pz IV Ausf D (my 1st AFV model - painted not so good) or a Tamiya M3 Stuart ......
Which one will be the most realistic SP mounting - IIRC a 75mm Pak was mounted on a M3 Mounting ...
Thanks for any advice

Bearing in mind the nature of the request... :-)
The Stuart just wouldn't be able to manage the recoil. I suspect it bucked like hell with the PaK 40. The 100 mm just wouldn't work.
Even mounting it on a Pz IV would be dicey, but the chassis should be able to take it.. The gun is relatively large, as well, you'd need a medium tank sized hull to have a hope of containing the weapon and it's recoil.
Build it into a tank destroyer like the Pz IV L/70 for a relatively plausable effect.
Just my 2 cents, of course.

The Egyptians used BS-3 100mm gun mounted on a T-34/85. Here is a link to a scratch build article from Finescale magazine and a link to a picture of the vehicle on a web album. The Album has many more pictures of this vehicle. The Finescale article uses the ICM kit.
