Hello,

I just come into the hobby and try to wash a model with black oil paint, thinned with turpentine.
My problems are:
How do you get a matt finish with this mixture on your model ?
How do you wash your brushes after that ? Do you thin all the paint with turpentine and then wash the brushes with water and soap ?
Thanks for you answers

Doesn't matter. Give the whole thing a spary of Dullcote after the fact.

Clean the brushes with the apporpriate solvent, water, rubbing alcohol, soap and water for accylics, paint thinner/turpentine for enamels, laquers or oils.

Testor's produces this matt laquer called "dullcote". It comes in a larger bottle than their Modelmaster paints and is usually on the top of the ModelMaster racks. It should be airbrushed. If you can't find this, or prefer not to use a laquer based product, most other paint lines have a clear flat/matt finish. Do not use Tamiya's, however, as that is a flatenning agent to be mixed into the paint before application.
