Hi Everyone

I am really new to this. Can anyone tell me of any good publicatons that I can read that will give me tips on painting, both figures and scenery. Desert scenes, etc etc. I have a dio underway at the moment but getting a little worried about the painting side. I am going to use Tamiya acrylics

I am sure I will keep coming back. Please be gentle with me

Mike

First off...welcome to the site. You'll do fine if you remember that the only stupid question is the one you didn't ask.

As for books, the "bible" seems to be Shep Paine's "How to Build Dioramas" Don't let the title throw you off, it covers just about everything you'll need at the start.

Hope this helps.

Hi Mike,
Generally there is just about everything you need to know here on this site.Have a good look through current and past forums(figures, dioramas, general modelling),there's a stack of answers to alot of questions.See also 'features';there are some great articles by 'Slodder' and 'Docdios' etc. with steps on how they have made dioramas.Cheers,Shay

Thanks Shay - I must echo that the features section is wonderful -TONS of great subject matter.

If you want printed reference material for specifically modeling the Shep books are very good - however you may need to watch ebay, they are hard to find.
The Osprey modeling books, beginner, intermediate, advanced are all pretty good.
