I recently purchased a ESCI 250/3 and an ESCI Sturm. III on Ebay. When they came, the boxes were open (no problem there) and the inside bags were open and the instruction included illustrations for attaching the hard tracks, but - guess what - no hard plastic tracks, just the "rubber bands".

Should I feel ripped off? If the instructions include pictures of the hard tracks, does that mean the kit originally came with the hard tracks? If it any help in identification, both are "white" boxes.

Please reply, because I need to post feedback for this seller.

Sincerely,
Tim Greeman (Braillescale)

The later issues came with hard tracks and early issues came with vinyl tracks. I would not feel "cheated" unless I had counted on the kits including hard tracks (length & link). The white boxes with red sides and a yellow track mark in the corner would have made me think I was getting a L&L set of tracks unless otherwise specified.

If you didn't know about the difference before hand, it shouldn't affect you. You did get a complete kit.

I rechecked the description and - sure enough - it quite clearly shows all the parts out of the box & bag and says, "vinyl tracks." My bad.

But - for future reference - does the yellow "treadmark" across the bottom of the box indicate the kit should have the hard tracks?

I'm asking you and Henk of Holland.

Yes, that boxing was indicative of the hard track issues.
