what color would be the best for painting the tracks of the Panzer IV Ausf E. I'm making it into the DAK version.

I recently did a set of tracks for a Crusader Mk1 (Desert). did a base coat of Tamiya flat nato black, followed by tamiya red brown which I then weathered with a life colour rust pigment wash, once dry I used MIG Gulf war sand pigment dry. I used a soft pencil on the teeth running down center of the track as well as the sprocket and idler. I drybrushed the track surfaces that would be bare with silver.

Nationality maybe be different but the colours shouldn't differ much

Also check any of the armor build features for track colours, most builders such as Teacher, outline the colours he uses on the tracks.

And the colours I gave you for my Crusader can apply to any tracks.. A PZIV in the desert would have similar coloured tracks to just about every other tank in the desert I would imagine.
