I would like to know if there is any major differences in T-34 76/85 chassis other than the two types of road wheels? One with ribber tires and the other just steel rims? I want to built two T-34's one a VT-34 AVR and one mine roller equiped tank. I know that I can combine the rubber tired and steel road wheels. Anything eles I can use to make the two kits a little different?Different fuel tanks?

I am using different Sherman tanks for dozer. mineroller, flail and retreiver, but what can I do with the Russian ones? The Shermans have cast hulls different angles, 75/76/105 mm guns, different road wheels and suspensions.

I can do a winter camo paint scheme at least they won't all be OD green like the Shermans.

Help meeee!!

That depends, what 76 are you talking about? model 1940? That had bolts on the front that were replaced by welds halfway through the '41. It also had a different driver viewport, and no MG mantlet. The 42 is identical to the 85, in the exception of rounded fenders, and the 43 shared the same hull. The wheels of the t-34's were all exchangeable, and you could have tanks running on three different kinds of wheels! If you want to make the tank different, you can try making one from Zavod nr.112. It had lots of extra hand holds, and looks a little different from the run-of-the-mill T-34. I don't know if they ever got minerollers, or whatever VT is....

Another consistant difference was that the turret ring on the 85 was bigger than on the 76. This also meant that the raised covers behind the turret, one on each side, had a slightly different profile, often noted as 3bolt or 4bolt.

Where fuel drums were fitted, generally later models had several drums wheras the 76s may also have had angular ones on the rear mudguards or very early ones rectangular ones on the side.
