DB models on EBay has the paintable version or you could try Mr Surface from Gunze the link to which I will also give you and recommend Lou Stener as he is a modeller he is trustworthy, well priced and friendly to deal with.

I use tamiya paint over it all of the time and have no problems at all. You can use the 500 to stipple on for texture to armour. I first really took note of it when Tamiya Magazine had an article on building the F16CJ.
