Sheesh, I just get to reading this thread, and now the building is in pieces!!

I thought the building looked fine. All the suggestions given would have made it better.
Greying the wood, making the colors more random, and giving some building related wear to the groundwork would have been great moves. I also thought that you could have left well alone, because you were going to make it snowy. If the building and ground are going to be covered in snow, then not much will show through!!

I'm excited to see what will become of the shed! Keep us posted!

Holy crap! We all said it looked good and you still smashed it with a hammer. I would truly hated to have seen the results if you got bad reviews.

If the second edition is better than the first, my sniper may just consider suicide.

If he comes on again asking what do we all think about the new look shed, for God's sake everyone be nice... I couldn't bear to be partially responsible for him smashing up something which we all thought looked okay!

Guys,

I just had the need for repeat.... :-)

No seriously now, I took it down because the given crytics confirmed my own ideas. It was impossible to turn the ideas for improvent into action on the existing shed.

I'm glad all of you where openhearted and came out with positive crytics.... specially when I found out they matched my own opinions about it.

With this action I forced myself to go back to the bottom of things....the idea behind the dio.... the story just wasn't there.... it was a shed with no reason....

Hi Eagle
WOW, it really looks good. But what is it? A tool shed, wood shed, chicken house, is someone living there? The suggestions have been really good, I like the stove pipe out of the roof idea. But if you have the chimney you have to have the wood pile. If its a tool shed, you should put a bench outside the window. Somewhere to lay your tools down while u are working on the car/tractor etc. If its a chicken house, put a trough for feed and a bucket (water) and a pitchfork/wheelbarrow against the wall

He was right.... what was the purpose of that shed before WWII took control of the situation.....

I'm glad it turned out this way.... Now I can build the shed again with your knowledge in the back of my head. I would have been very upset if the shed hadn't come off it's base in one piece.... but since that's not I feel good about this turningpoint.

I'll be back with the same, but improved, shed !!

Keep it coming guys !!

Hey what kind of shed doesn't have a plank bench outside? Or perhaps a barrel to collect water runoff? Ypou may even want to add a few "loose" sheets of the corregated metail to the roof, or perhaps have a sheet or two standing up beside the building? All of these would look nice with a light layer of snow on them as well. Another touch is to make the windows a bit "grimmy"... the center is cleaner, but the edges would have a film of dirt?

Overall, I think this is well done... the angle is good so it forces a nice "3D" inspection.

I warned you : ammo doesn't belong INSIDE a wooden shed !!!

That was drastic, man. I love that.

Now before you start building, reread all these ideas and your own, then close your eyes. See that shed in full operation a few months before your dio. What is happening ? Are there chickens ? A farmer's daughter ? (Is she pretty ?) What elements in the dio explain that "story" to me... ?
This will be one great little dio. I can feel it tingling already... Just can't wait !

Eagle, I can't believe you nuked your shed. It looked so good. I wish I could build something half that nice. Don't listen to anything I say, my stuff looks like a 2 year old slapped paint and glue on it. Definately keep that roof though, it was awesome, and I like the idea of the farmers daughter in the shed, could be a downed flyer having a little resistance rendevous with a madamoiselle?

Sorry, can't be....although not this time. Regulations say only 1 figure allowed....

The shed will be back...only better I believe.

Hi Eagle,

what a serious air-raid on Your dio ... (Mustangs, Lightnings, Spitfires?)

I think it would be good to include some conection between the outside and the interior of the shed. For example: show the cut off trunk of a pine tree outside the shed and present the cut off tree in the interior - as christmas-tree or something like that. Would be great if the outside view created some question which gets explained in the interior of the shed.

Just an idea

Happy modelling!

Danny,

I have a question for you: ARE YOU NUTS???????? #:-) #:-) #:-)

I loved that shed, and there where some things that could need some fine tuning it was great.

Do me a favor: next time that you decide to smash some of your work, give me a call first (you have my number) and I wil come and save it to place it in my humble home.

Man, you got some nerve to start over again.

I just know that it will look even more stunning, keep on building

I realy liked your corugated iron roof, with it's fixations visible. Now, that fixation is a place that rusts a lot. And when it's raining, the rust goes running down the slope, making reddish stains...

Haha..... nice reactions guys.

One thing has got to be kept in mind though..... the dio is only 10 x 15 cm.... that's an awful place for all those creative ideas.

My initial idea was the Christmas tree version like Ralf stated.... but there just isn't enough space for that....

Well I got to run now.... tearing it all down is one thing.....building it and having it ready again on Christmas Eve is another......

Glue Rules !!
